Front Desk Receptionist

Overview:

          The Receptionist is the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors. This role is essential in maintaining a warm, welcoming, and organized front office that reflects the values of Waldorf education. The receptionist supports daily school operations by managing phone and in-person communications, maintaining student records, processing registrations, monitoring attendance, and responding to student needs such as illness or injury. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Office Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, parents, and staff, ensuring a welcoming and professional office environment.

  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries with warmth and efficiency.

  • Maintain office supplies, ordering and restocking as needed.

  • Organize and maintain records, filing systems, and documentation in accordance with school policies.

2. Administrative Support

  • Support enrollment and admissions processes, including maintaining accurate student records.

  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance requests as directed by the Office Manager or Executive Director, ensuring timely communication with vendors and minimal disruption to school operations.

3. Parent and Student Support

  • Serve as a resource for parents, answering questions or directing them to the appropriate staff member.

  • Assist with student attendance tracking, late arrivals, and early dismissals.

  • Provide care and support to sick or injured children while they are in the office, ensuring their comfort and well-being until a parent or guardian can be contacted.

  • Coordinate daily bus changes for students.

4. Event and Calendar Coordination

  • Support planning and logistics for school events, festivals, and assemblies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Previous administrative or office experience, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, etc.). 

  • Knowledge of Infinite Campus Student information systems (preferred but not required)

  • Familiarity with Waldorf education principles or a willingness to learn.

  • Ability to pass a fingerprint background check and meet state employment requirements.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Bus Driver

Overview: The Bus Driver provides safe and efficient transportation.

  • $19.00 to starting minimum pay

  • Morning and Afternoon Route

  • 20 hours per week

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or record of previous work experience.

  • Background check clearance and valid fingerprint card or clearance as required.

  • Pass drug testing

  • CDL or eligible to obtain a CDL. (Training can be provided)

  • School bus license
