Desert Star Community School First Annual
May Faire -
A HUGE SUCCESS!
Last
Saturday we at Desert Star Community Charter School held
our first annual MayFaire. There were over 500 children
and families in attendance, and we all got toenjoy a beautiful
spring day at Windmill Park in Cornville.
The festivities began with the Desert Star children performing
Maypole dances and all grades 1st through 6th played music
on recorders and violins.
The event was open to the public and offered many unique
activities for kids of all ages, such as creating their
own fresh flower head garlands, rickshaw rides, a sand
treasure hunt, tug of war, musical chairs, a bouncy castle
and storytelling.
WE LUCKED OUT - NO RAIN - AND EVEN
LADY SPRING, KING WINTER AND SPRING GREEN WERE THERE!

The live music by Busker Eaton, Nathan, and 3 Trees was
amazing! A familiar face danced on stilts there was even
a hula-hooping clown! Around 30 vendors offered arts,
services, food and imported goods.
It was a lovely spring day, rain was predicted but didn't
dare show up. The warm weather was perfect and there was
lots of green grass for everyone to frolic on. Children
from all classes K - 4th, performed their May Pole dances
beautifully! Poor King Winter was banished again until
later this year and the dancing and festivities began.
Music was everywhere!
Thank you to all our wonderful performers!
There were beautiful arts and crafts
available
Many beautiful things were available from
the thirty vendors who brought lovely items for us all
to enjoy and purchase. There was great food on hand, plus
lots of fun activities and prizes too!
We look forward to seeing you all again
next year at the May Faire!
Thank you all for all you have done to make this an amazing
year at Desert Star!
